A porterhouse that size means they‘re either sourcing well or turning tables fast on a holiday — I’d want to know which. But the components are right.
Redwood Steakhouse at California Hotel & Casino is doing a four-course prix fixe for $95: Cajun crab bisque en croute, grilled chilled shrimp with garlic and dill aïoli, fire-roasted filet mignon with portabella mushrooms and scalloped potatoes, then blackberry chocolate cake with crème anglaise. Cajun crab bisque en croute means they‘re baking a pastry lid onto the bowl — that takes time and attention. If they execute it right, this is the best deal in the lineup.

Carve Prime Rib at Cannery Casino Hotel is $60 for a ribeye board with a 20oz ribeye, roasted baby vegetables, tiny potatoes, artisan cheese, and a choice of Coors or Modelo. $60 for 20oz with cheese and a beer is solid value if the sourcing is there.
The Angry Butcher Steakhouse at Sam‘s Town Hotel and Gambling Hall is $50 for their Three Meat Mixed Grill: three Korean flanken short ribs, two slow-roasted BBQ beef ribs, one 4oz sausage, garlic steak fries, and a 16oz draft beer. Flanken short ribs cut thin and grilled Korean-style can be excellent or rubbery depending on the kitchen’s handling. The slow-roasted BBQ beef ribs can‘t be rushed on a holiday — if they started them Friday, they’ll be good.
Under $25
Tin Lizard Bar & Grill at Cadence Crossing Casino is $24.99 for a 12oz New York steak, Baja shrimp, potato and vegetables, a strawberry ice cream sundae, and a 16oz draft beer. The steak isn‘t going to be dry-aged prime, but at that price point it doesn’t need to be.
Bailiwick All American Pub at The Orleans is doing a BBQ pulled pork sandwich on brioche with fruity coleslaw and crinkle fries for $20.99, add a domestic beer for $5 or a growler for $15. This runs all day. If your dad wants a beer and a sandwich without a prix fixe situation, that's the play.
