On Nov. 5, Trump Hotels announced the return of its Black Friday suite promotion, which runs in two stages. Members of the Trump Card Privileges Program get the first and larger discount. The general public gets a smaller one during the five days from Black Friday through Giving Tuesday.

The Las Vegas property shares billing with the New York hotel overlooking Central Park, Trump National Doral Miami, and the company’s golf and coastal resorts in Scotland and Ireland. For readers here, the relevant detail is that Trump International Hotel Las Vegas gets slightly better terms than most of the portfolio.

Trump International Hotel Las Vegas Black Friday Deal: More Than Suites

Four properties are extending the public-sale savings beyond suites: Trump International Hotel Las Vegas, Trump National Doral Miami, Trump Turnberry, and Trump International Golf Links & Hotel Ireland, Doonbeg. The company did not say which additional room categories qualify in Las Vegas, only that “additional room categories are eligible at select properties.”

For a lot of readers, that matters more than the headline. Plenty of business travelers and convention visitors have no use for a suite. They want a good standard room at a lower price. If the Las Vegas discount reaches the room you would actually book, the sale is worth a look. Check the participating categories on the booking page before you assume it does.

Stay periods also vary by property. The only end date in the announcement belongs to Doonbeg, where eligible stays run through Nov. 30, 2027. The Las Vegas window is listed only as extending into 2027, so confirm your dates in the full terms online.

Thirty Percent Off What, Exactly

In hotel pricing, the Best Unrestricted Rate is the flexible, fully refundable rate. It is usually priced above advance-purchase, prepaid and member rates. A 30% discount off the highest public price can land close to a rate you could have booked anyway with some flexibility on cancellation.

That doesn’t make the deal empty. A refundable rate at 30% off is a real benefit, particularly for anyone booking a 2027 trip whose plans might change. Still, the useful comparison is the promo price against the lowest rate offered for the same dates and room, not against the rate it was cut from.

The announcement also says nothing about resort fees, parking or taxes. I have kept a spreadsheet of resort fees for about a decade, and the most common note in it is some version of “not part of the discount.” Before you book, look at the all-in total at checkout, not the nightly figure.

The Trump Card Presale and Its Timing

The members-only presale opens Nov. 18 with 35% off eligible suites booked through Nov. 26. Trump Card is free, and anyone who joins by Nov. 23 can receive an invitation to the presale.

The dates overlap in a way worth noticing. A traveler who signs up on Nov. 23 joins five days after the presale has started and has only a few days left to use it. If you want the presale, join now rather than the week of the sale, because suite inventory at a single property doesn’t last long at 35% off.

Why Run a Suite Sale the Week of Thanksgiving

Hotel companies run these sales for clear reasons. Bookings made in late November fill dates well into the following year. A presale that requires membership brings in new loyalty sign-ups, which means names and email addresses the company can market to directly instead of paying a third-party booking site a commission. Suites are also the hardest inventory to sell on a slow weeknight, so discounting them makes more sense than discounting the rooms that sell themselves.

Gift cards follow the same logic. From Cyber Monday, Nov. 30, through Dec. 1, Trump Hotels will take 15% off gift card purchases of $250 or more. The offer is online only, in the United States, with a $2,000 daily purchase limit. Gift cards bring in cash now, and some portion of them is never fully redeemed.

The announcement does not say whether a discounted gift card can be used to pay for a promotional suite rate. Since the terms prohibit combining promotions, ask before you plan around stacking the two.

Trump Card for Casino Loyalty Members

Readers used to MGM Rewards or Caesars Rewards should know that Trump International Hotel Las Vegas is a non-gaming property, so Trump Card is a hotel program and does not track any casino play. Its listed benefits include preferred rates, priority early check-in and late check-out, welcome amenities, complimentary room upgrades, and points that do not expire. Gold and Platinum are the higher tiers.

One benefit deserves credit. Trump Card members can cancel a points-based reservation as late as noon local hotel time on the day of arrival and get all their points back. That is a more generous cancellation policy than most hotel programs offer on award stays.

The St. Jude Donation

Trump Hotels will give $10 to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital for every reservation made during the promotional period. The donation is per reservation, not per night, so a five-night suite stay generates the same $10 as a one-night booking. The company did not announce a cap or a target total.

Ten dollars on a luxury suite booking is a small amount. It is still more than nothing, and it comes from the company rather than as an add-on to the guest’s bill, which deserves to be said plainly.

A colleague of mine who books a suite every spring for client dinners fits that description, and I would tell him to price the presale against the property’s lowest advance-purchase rate for the same dates. If the presale still wins after fees, he should book it.
