5. Rounders (1998)
Rounders (1998) is one of the most popular poker movies. The lead actor Mike is a role taken up by Matt Damon, which probably contributes to the movie's hype. The story describes his life as he aims to become a pro player, including setbacks in his journey. If you're going to watch just one poker movie, this one is an outstanding choice, hands-down.
