Bat Out Of Hell: Major Success or Total Flop?
Is Bat Out Of Hell, the new rock ‘n’ roll musical at Paris Las Vegas, worth seeing? I went to the show to see for myself.

Jim Steinman & Meat Loaf’s Bat Out Of Hell: The Musical
Bat Out Of Hell is a rock ‘n’ roll musical production inspired by late rockstars Meat Loaf and Jim Steinman’s greatest hits. A story of young love is set to the soundtracks of the 1970s and 80s. The scene begins in a futuristic dystopian society. We meet a rebellious, perpetually young teenager, Strat, who leads a band of other forever young teens known as “The Lost.” Strat is in love with Raven, the daughter of Falco, whose mission is to rid the city of The Lost. A forbidden romance blossoms between the two teens, and the rest is a wild ride! Vegas 411’s Sam Novak attended an early preview of the show; you can read his initial thoughts on the production here.Honest Review
I will start by saying that audiences who are fans of the music of Meat Loaf and Jim Steinman will love this production. These are the people who are most likely already lining up to buy tickets. Even if you’re not familiar with the songs, there’s no denying that the show is full of talented performers and has impressive production value. Notable cast members include lead Alize Cruz, who plays Raven, with a powerhouse voice. Performers who aren’t strangers to the Vegas stage, Travis Cloer and Anne Martinez, as tumultuous couple Falco and Sloane, are also standouts. The two each hold their own when performing solo, and the numbers in which they feed off of each other, like “Paradise By The Dashboard Light,” are outstanding.

Beware!
There are a couple of warnings that I feel must be said. With the amount of swearing, violence, and sexual content, this musical should have an 18+ rating. The show’s website states that it’s “strictly for ages 13 and over,” but I would say that 13 is much too young to attend. The show also starts with a bang, literally! The loud boom of a motorcycle was enough to make me, my guest, and those around us jump. Several other audience members even audibly gasped, but it did get everyone to quiet down, sit down, and pay attention. Several numbers feature strobing lights, flashes, explosions of sounds, and pyrotechnics that burn so bright the audience can feel the heat! Overall this show is visually engaging with never a dull moment.

Tickets & Show Dates
Bat Out Of Hell performs Tuesday through Sunday at 7 pm and also on Friday and Saturday at 7 pm and 9:30 pm. Tickets start at $52 and can be purchased online.Theater Location
Another warning: The theater is located off of the beaten path. Luckily my Lyft driver dropped me off at the North entrance, so it wasn’t a far walk. There are also several signs throughout the casino pointing you straight to Bat Out Of Hell. It’s tucked away down a hall with the bathrooms. Once you’re past the bathrooms, it opens up into a vintage Parisian lobby, confirming that you’re finally in the right place.Final Thoughts
Bat Out Of Hell is a production that’s been taking the Strip by storm. I can say that it lives up to the hype that’s been surrounding it for weeks. Tickets for some nights are already completely sold out! If you’re a rock ‘n’ roll fiend or musical fanatic, consider adding Bat Out Of Hell to the itinerary for one of your nights out.
