Mötley Crüe Sets Fan-Voted 2027 Residency at Caesars Palace Colosseum

Mötley Crüe has never been accused of subtlety, so the most interesting thing about its fourth Las Vegas residency is a small detail: the fans picked the set. Eight shows at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, March 19 through April 3, 2027, will run on a fan-voted list that includes songs the band hasn't played live in decades.

Quick Facts

  • What: Mötley Crüe At The Colosseum At Caesars Palace, Carnival Of Sins in Sin City, an eight-show limited residency
  • Where: The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas
  • When: March 19, 20, 24, 26, 27 and 31, and April 2 and 3, 2027. All shows start at 8 p.m.
  • Worth knowing: A portion of ticket proceeds benefits Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth.

A Set List Written by the Room

Most residencies by veteran acts settle into the same order of business: the hits in the slots where the hits go, two or three deep cuts as a courtesy, and the ballad placed where the audience needs a rest. It works, and it rarely tells you anything new about the band. Mötley Crüe has a catalog that could run that way forever, and the fan vote is a quiet admission that the people buying tickets to a fourth Vegas engagement have probably already heard the obvious version of this show.

A fan-voted set changes the relationship between the stage and the seats. The band has said only that the list includes songs returning to the stage for the first time in decades, and it has not named them, which is the correct move. Part of the pleasure of a show like this is the moment a song starts, a third of the room recognizes it a beat before everyone else, and the cheer moves outward from those people.

In my theater-school years, we were taught that the audience writes half the play. It took a band best known for pyrotechnics and a rotating drum kit to make that literal.

Live Nation and Caesars are also promising “stunning visuals” under the Carnival of Sins banner, and nobody should expect Mötley Crüe to turn up with a stool and an acoustic guitar. The test is whether the production supports the songs or competes with them. The fan vote suggests the band knows which of those matters to the people who have followed it this far.

The Colosseum Is a Different Room Than Park MGM

This run follows closely on the band’s third residency, ten nights at Dolby Live at Park MGM in 2025. That was its first Vegas engagement since 2013, and it came after Mötley Crüe Takes On Sin City in 2012 and Evening In Hell in 2013, both of which sold out. The band likes to point out that the 2012 run made it the first to bring a hard rock residency to the city. Whatever you make of the bragging, a decade’s worth of rock bands have since followed it into rooms like these.

The move to Caesars is the detail I find most interesting. The Colosseum seats 4,300 and was built for a single voice to carry to the back wall, which is why it flatters singers and punishes muddy sound. A loud four-piece rock band asks more of the room than a pop crooner does. A fan-voted set will also probably mix arena anthems with rawer early material that was never meant for a theater. If the house mix keeps the vocals clear above the guitars, the Colosseum’s relative closeness should make this the most immediate of the band’s four Vegas runs. If it doesn’t, all that closeness won’t help.

Mötley Crüe Colosseum Tickets: Presales and the Public On-Sale

The presale schedule is layered, and getting the order right matters for a run this short.

  • S.I.N. Club presale: Opens Tuesday, Oct. 20, at 10 a.m. PT for members of the band’s fan club. Membership is free, so there’s no reason not to sign up through motley.com before you try.
  • Citi presale: Citi is the official card of the residency. Cardmembers have access from Tuesday, Oct. 20, at 10 a.m. PT until Thursday, Oct. 22, at 10 p.m. PT through the Citi Entertainment program.
  • Caesars Rewards and Live Nation presale: Begins Thursday, Oct. 22, at 10 a.m. PT.
  • General public: Friday, Oct. 23, at 10 a.m. PT at Ticketmaster.

Ticket prices weren’t part of the announcement. Expect the usual spread for a Colosseum headliner, and check carefully what any premium package actually includes before paying for it. The band’s three earlier residencies all sold out, and this one has fewer dates than the 2025 run, so a good seat will be easier to find at 10:01 on a presale morning than at any point after.

Picking a Night, a Seat and a Dinner

The schedule clusters on weekends: Friday and Saturday pairs on March 19–20, March 26–27 and April 2–3. There are also two Wednesdays, March 24 and March 31. If your trip has any flexibility, I’d aim for a Wednesday. In a run this short, the Friday and Saturday nights are the ones that disappear first, and a midweek crowd at a rock show is no less loud.

The announcement doesn’t give a run time or an age policy. Check your Ticketmaster listing before you bring a teenager or build a dinner reservation around a guess.

On seating, the general rule for amplified rock applies even in a room this intimate. A center seat a little way back usually sounds better than one pressed against the stage at the far side, because you hear the mix the engineer is building rather than whatever comes off the nearest speaker. Visuals are part of this production too, so a seat that takes in the whole stage is worth more than one that puts you close to a single member of the band.

Caesars gives you plenty of options for dinner before an 8 p.m. curtain. Peter Luger is the most dependable choice for a long, unhurried meal. If you’d rather eat quickly and keep the money for the merch table, the Celebrity Food Hall has Bobby’s Burgers and Guy Fieri’s Chicken Guy! a short walk from the theater. I’d bring my brother-in-law, who still keeps a Shout at the Devil shirt in a drawer the way other people keep a wedding dress, and I’d let him pick the restaurant as compensation for making him sit through my opinions about the sound mix.

Too Fast for Love at 45, and Where the Money Goes

The residency arrives during the band’s anniversary year. On October 30, BMG will release a 45th-anniversary limited edition box set of the 1981 debut Too Fast For Love. It includes both the original Leathür Records pressing and the 1982 Elektra version, live recordings from the band’s 1982 Perkins Palace shows, and a previously unreleased LP of demos from its first studio sessions in March 1981. For the first time, the Leathür Records version will also be available on streaming services. If the fan vote leans toward the early records, which seems plausible given that box set, this would be the year for it.

The charity element is local and specific. A portion of ticket proceeds goes to Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth, a Las Vegas organization that has served young people experiencing homelessness in Southern Nevada since 2001. It provides the kind of wraparound support that helps them finish school and move into stable housing. The announcement doesn’t say how large that portion is. Still, it beats the more common arrangement, in which a residency’s only connection to the city is the hotel it plays in.

My verdict is to buy for the set list rather than the spectacle. A band on its fourth Vegas engagement could have repeated what worked last time. Instead, it handed part of the show to the audience, and that is the clearest sign I’ve seen that Mötley Crüe still cares about surprising the people who keep coming back.
