Cyndi Lauper Returns to The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in 2027
Ten nights only: Cyndi Lauper brings her Las Vegas residency back to Caesars Palace in Feb. and Sept. 2027. Citi access opens Oct. 20, general sale Oct. 23.
Cyndi Lauper spent 2024 and 2025 saying goodbye to arenas, sixty-eight times over, and then did what a farewell tour rarely admits it might: she stopped traveling and let the audience come to her. Her Las Vegas residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, which opened in 2026, will return for ten nights in February and September 2027.

A Farewell With a Forwarding Address
People who hear “farewell tour” and then “Las Vegas residency” tend to roll their eyes, and I understand why. My view is that the two fit together better than they first appear to. The Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Farewell Tour was a goodbye to a particular way of working: arenas and amphitheatres, a different city every night, and a show built to be packed into trucks. It ended with two nights at the Hollywood Bowl, which were filmed for a CBS special, A GRAMMY Salute to Cyndi Lauper: Live from the Hollywood Bowl.
A residency removes the trucks. The performer stays in one room, the production is designed for that room, and the audience does the traveling. Caesars and Live Nation say Lauper is coming back because of fan demand. That is the usual explanation for a residency extension, and the schedule gives it some support: there are only ten dates, split into two short legs seven months apart. That looks like a run of engagements, which is a gentler pace than an open-ended booking.
This is the reason I think the Cyndi Lauper Las Vegas residency is worth considering for people who skipped the farewell tour. The question of whether to see her has turned into a question of where. A fixed room built around her catalog is also a better place for her songs than most of the arenas they toured through.

The Pop Star Who Wrote a Broadway Score
Lauper is a stage performer in a more literal sense than most pop singers. In 2013 she became the first solo woman to win the Tony for Best Original Score, for Kinky Boots, and she is now writing a Broadway musical based on the 1988 film Working Girl. When I was studying theater, the line between rock concert and book musical was policed fairly strictly. Kinky Boots crossed it with no apparent concern about who was watching.
That background shapes what I expect from her in a designed room. The residency was created with Brian Burke Creative, and the credit reads as a partnership between the two. It does not say the show was handed off to a production company. A songwriter who has built a full score knows how a night should be paced: where the energy should rise, where it should drop, and which song needs the room to go quiet before it starts. “Time After Time” and “True Colors” are songs that can carry that kind of quiet. “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” will bring the room back up whenever she decides it should.
I am cautious about guessing what is on stage. The announcement does not describe the set list or the staging, so I won’t either. My point is narrower. This is a performer who thinks about structure, working in a room that rewards it.
The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, at 4,300 Seats
The Colosseum seats 4,300 people. It was built for Celine Dion’s first residency in 2003, and every Colosseum headliner since has been measured against that original purpose: a single voice reaching the back wall. For someone coming off arenas and the Hollywood Bowl, it is a much smaller space. The back rows are close enough that a singer can see faces, and that tends to change how an artist works the crowd.
She shares the venue with other Live Nation residencies, including Rod Stewart, Sting, Tim McGraw, Mötley Crüe and LISA. Each brings its own production, and that rotation is why her dates come in short blocks rather than a long continuous run.
The announcement doesn’t give seating guidance or a run time, so I won’t make up either. One practical point does follow from the numbers: ten shows in a 4,300-seat room is not a lot of inventory. If you care about being near the stage, buy during a presale and don’t wait for the general on-sale.

Picking Your Night
Both legs follow the same pattern: a Friday and Saturday, then a Wednesday, then another Friday and Saturday. In February the shows fall on Friday the 19th, Saturday the 20th, Wednesday the 24th, Friday the 26th and Saturday the 27th. In September they fall on Friday the 3rd, Saturday the 4th, Wednesday the 8th, Friday the 10th and Saturday the 11th.
If your dates are flexible, the two Wednesdays are worth a look. A midweek trip usually means calmer hotel booking and a less frantic resort around the show. The first September weekend falls on Labor Day weekend, since Labor Day 2027 is Monday, Sept. 6. Plan for a busier Strip and book your room before your ticket starts to feel like the cheap part of the trip.
Before the Show at Caesars Palace
With an 8 p.m. curtain, dinner at the resort is the simplest plan. For a real meal, Caesars Palace has Peter Luger, Amalfi by Bobby Flay and Restaurant Guy Savoy. For something quicker, the Celebrity Food Hall has Bobby’s Burgers and Tortazo by Rick Bayless, which works well if you would rather spend your time getting settled than waiting on a check. Afterward, Vista Cocktail Lounge or Caspian’s are good places to talk the show over. Hotel details are at caesarspalace.com.
If I were buying, I would pick a Wednesday in February and take my sister, who spent most of 1984 in lace fingerless gloves and has never apologized for it. The show is a good fit for anyone whose favorite Lauper songs are the slow ones, for theater fans curious about the songwriter behind Kinky Boots, and for anyone who missed the farewell tour and assumed that was the end of it. If you want a big-screen spectacle, other shows in town will suit you better. This one is a chance to hear the songs in a room built around them.
