Carrot Top Cancels Luxor Atrium Showroom Shows for 3 Weeks

Quick Facts

• What: Carrot Top cancels Las Vegas shows

• When: Next three weeks, per TMZ's report

• Where: Atrium Showroom at Luxor Hotel & Casino

• Worth knowing: TMZ reports Carrot Top remains hospitalized following a suicide attempt, citing sources familiar with the performances

Carrot Top, real name Scott Thompson, has run a residency at the Atrium Showroom at Luxor for close to two decades. Luxor sits on the south end of the Strip, part of MGM Resorts International, the same company running Mandalay Bay next door and MGM Grand up the block. The Atrium is a small room by Strip standards, built for a prop comic who fills the stage with a truckload of gags and one-liners pulled from whatever he hauled in that week.

TMZ broke the story, reporting that sources familiar with the shows confirmed both the hospitalization and the three-week gap in the schedule. No return date has been announced publicly. Luxor’s own event listings had shown Carrot Top’s name attached to dates through the fall before the cancellation.

Carrot Top has held that Atrium Showroom slot longer than most Strip residencies last, period. The three-week dark stretch leaves Luxor with an empty showroom, his name still on the marquee, and no replacement announced.

TMZ's report does not include a statement from Carrot Top, his representatives, or Luxor. Vegas411 has not independently confirmed additional details beyond what TMZ has reported.
