It’s a sophisticated Spanish dining spot in the V City Plaza that transitioned in late 2025 from offering fixed courses to an AYCE tasting menu format. Head here for dazzling tapas and pintxos—the latter of which are bite-sized delicacies from the Basque Country of northern Spain. Choose from three different menus—Classico ($45), Suave ($55) + Premio ($65)—and eat to your soul’s content for 90 minutes, with a parade of taste bud-awakening dishes.

My family and I went with the Classico menu, diving headlong into so many memorable delights and enjoying it all with sangria. Among the dishes we chose were Egg & Crispy Jamon, Bay Scallop Cerviche, Patatas Bravas, Txistorra (apple butter, cantaloupe shoots), Iberico Presa (charred leeks, Ibérico chorizo pork jus), and the Burnt Plum Tart.

A Different Beast is owned by the husband-and-wife culinary team Kat Hu + Justin Yi. They closed their downtown LA restaurant Hock + Hoof during Covid and traveled to Spain, where they were duly inspired by the Basque Country’s food before heading to Las Vegas to open the unforgettable Beast in April 2024.  Lucky for us they brought their good vibrations + smarts here.
