Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best magic show in Las Vegas?

It depends what you want from magic. For technical skill at close range, Shin Lim at the Palazzo Theatre is the strongest act in the city. For comedy, Piff the Magic Dragon and Mac King are both better nights out than their ticket prices suggest. For large-scale spectacle, Criss Angel MINDFREAK. Penn & Teller remain the connoisseurs' pick and the longest-running headliner act in town.

How many magic shows are playing in Las Vegas right now?

Nineteen resident magic and mentalism productions as of September 2026, spread across Strip showrooms, the V Theater complex, downtown, off-Strip resorts and two hidden-room venues. That count moves several times a year. This guide was last checked in September 2026.

Is David Copperfield still performing in Las Vegas?

No. Copperfield played his final show at the MGM Grand on 30 April 2026, ending a residency of more than 25 years. Many older guides still list him. The MGM Grand Theater is being taken over by Now You See Me Live from 15 October 2026.

What is the best magic show in Las Vegas for kids?

The Mac King Comedy Magic Show at Excalibur, which plays in the afternoon, runs about 70 minutes and is built for families. Children need to be 5 or older. The afternoon shows are consistently the best value. Mac King at Excalibur, Paranormal at Horseshoe and Nathan Burton at FlyOver all cost a fraction of an evening headliner ticket. Off-Strip and downtown rooms such as House of Magic at Silver Sevens and Mike Hammer at the Four Queens are cheaper again. Prices move constantly, so check the venue for the current rate.
